Disability Accommodations

The University of Tennessee encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you are a graduating student or guest with a disability that requires assistance at commencement, please notify the Office of Engineering Student Affairs (Angela McCarter, 865-974-2454 or amccarte@utk.edu) to make arrangements prior to the ceremony.

Reserved Parking

A very limited number of reserved handicapped spaces will be available in the Neyland Parking Garage G-10 for event parking.

If you do not have a handicap plate or placard, you may drop off a person with limited mobility at the entrance of Thompson Boling Arena on Philip Fulmer Way before parking.

Please note that Thompson Boling Arena is quite large, and the distances and inclines between parking and the building entrance may be impediments to persons who have difficulty walking. Please plan on additional time to walk these distances.

Reserved Seating

There are areas available for guests requiring wheelchairs. Please make reservations in advance if you have guests who require this space.

Interpreter Services

Sign language interpreters (using American Sign Language) will be available for commencement.

Additional Needs

If you or your guests anticipate needing any other type of accommodation or have questions about the physical access provided, please call 865-974-2454 or e-mail amccarte@utk.edu prior to the ceremony.
