Disability Accommodations
The University of Tennessee encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you are a graduating student or guest with a disability that requires assistance at commencement, please notify the Office of Engineering Student Affairs (Angela McCarter, 865-974-2454 or amccarte@utk.edu) to make arrangements prior to the ceremony.
Reserved Parking
A very limited number of handicap parking spaces are available at the Holiday Inn Select parking garage on Clinch Ave. directly across from the main entrance of the Convention Center. Unfortunately, there is a fee to park in this area.
If you do not have a handicap plate or placard, you may drop off a person with limited mobility at the main entrance of the Knoxville Convention Center on Clinch Ave. before parking in one of the designated areas.
Please note that the Knoxville Convention Center is quite large, and the distances and inclines between parking and the building entrance may be impediments to persons who have difficulty walking. Please plan on additional time to walk these distances.
Reserved Seating
A specially designated area is available for guests requiring wheelchairs. Please make reservations in advance if you have guests who wish to use this space. One companion seat is allotted per guest in a wheelchair.
Interpreter Services
Sign language interpreters (using American Sign Language) will be available for commencement. Guests who are deaf or hard of hearing and need priority seating must make arrangements for reserved seating by contacting the Office of Engineering Student Affairs (Angela McCarter, 865-974-2454 or amccarte@utk.edu).
