Engineers Day: West Tennessee Initiative

Tickle College of Engineering (TCE) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UT) is hosting a new program in Memphis during the Fall of 2017 entitled Engineers Day: West Tennessee (WT).

WT is a one day program for current high school juniors and seniors who are interested in pursuing engineering at UT. Underrepresented groups (African American, Hispanic, Native American, Pacific Islander, women, low income and first-generation college students) are strongly encouraged to participate.

Participants will explore to learn about the various aspects of engineering through discussion, project demonstrations, and exhibits prepared by UT engineering departments/student societies. Participants will receive an overview of the TCE, information on admissions, support services, and see examples of how an engineer’s work impacts daily life.  Students must have a minimum GPA: 3.25, taken ACT/SAT prior, and work with teacher/chaperone to submit the appropriate form with engineering interests based on classifications below:

Engineers Day: WT will be held in Memphis, TN on Friday, September 29, 2017 located at the Student Alumni Center (UT Health Sciences Campus) from 9 AM to 1 PM. Each school selected to participate in Engineers Day: WT will send up to 12 students and 2 counselors/teachers and lunch will be provided. Schools must be located in West Tennessee to be eligible to apply and must provide their own transportation. To sign-up for the upcoming event, please visit our website at tiny.utk.edu/edaywt. Registration must be completed by no later than Friday, September 1, 2017.  Notifications will be sent to schools by Friday, September 8, 2017.
