Distinguished Alumnus Jerry Johnson

Jerry JohnsonJerry Johnson (BS/ChE '94) has been named as one of 12 outstanding individuals from across the country to serve as White House Fellows. The White House Fellows Program, one of the nation’s most prestigious programs for leadership and public service, was established in 1964 by President Lyndon B. Johnson. It offers exceptional young men and women first-hand experience working at the highest levels of the federal government. These individuals spend one year working as full-time, paid special assistant to senior White House Staff, the Vice President, Cabinet secretaries and other top-ranking government officials. Past participants in the program include Secretary of State Colin Powell, retired General Wesley Clark and Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao.

Johnson is currently Vice President of Wachovia Securities in Charlotte, NC. He has also served as national president of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society. Johnson was a participant in the Minority Engineering Scholarship Program during his years at UT.
