Diversity Pre-College Programs
The College of Engineering sponsors summer programs for pre-college students who are interested in learning about and pursuing an engineering career.
Middle School Introduction to Engineering Systems (MITES)
The MITES program is designated for rising 7th-8th graders. The application deadline has expired. Notifications will be sent out by Friday, March 16, 2012 by email and mail.
Introduction of Sophomores to Engineering Principles (INSTEP)
The INSTEP program is designated for rising 9th-10th graders. The application deadline has expired. Notifications will be sent out by Friday, March 16, 2012 by email and mail.
High School Introduction to Engineering Systems (HITES)
The HITES program is designated for rising 11th-12th graders. The application deadline has expired. Notifications will be sent out by Friday, March 16, 2012 by email and mail.
Each program provides hands-on learning experiences designed to motivate students who have the interest and aptitude to consider careers in engineering. Participants learns about careers in engineering, explore the UT campus, tour engineering labs and facilities, compete in engineering challenges, and have an opportunity to jump start their academic career.
