Diversity Pre-College Programs
EDP sponsors summer programs for pre-college students who are interested in learning about and pursuing an engineering career.
The Middle School Introduction to Engineering Systems (MITES) program
The MITES program, which will take place July 18-23, 2010, is designated for rising 7-8th graders: A brochure will be available soon at this link.
The Introduction of Sophomores to Engineering Principles (INSTEP) is offered to junior high school students during summer 2010.
The INSTEP program, which will take place July 25-30, 2010, is designated for rising 9-10th graders: A brochure will be available soon at this link.
The High School Introduction to Engineering Systems (HITES) program is
offered to senior high school students during summer 2010.
The HITES program, which will take place August 1-6, is designated for rising 11-12th graders: A brochure will be available soon at this link.
This programs provides hands-on learning experiences designed to motivate minority students who have the interest and aptitude to consider careers in engineering.
To apply:
Please print and fill out the Pre-College Diversity Programs Application and mail it into the address listed on the application.
Print two Recommendation Forms and give it to at least one math or science teacher and another faculty member from your school who know you well enough to evaluate your ability and your potential for success as a student. Provide the individuals with a stamped envelope, addressed to:
