Graduate Teaching Assistant Opportunities
One of the most important facets of the Engineering Fundamentals Division is the participation of graduate teaching assistants (GTAs). EFD emphasizes building a "community of learners" among freshman students and instructors.
Graduate students in the College of Engineering wishing to work with the EFD teaching team must be able to relate well with students and peers and enjoy hands-on applications of engineering principles.
GTA Responsibilities
Graduate teaching assistants chosen as EFD instructors are actively involved in the curriculum. GTAs teach classes, offer special instruction on team projects and participate in the advising process. GTA assistantships carry a 20 hour per week commitment and require attendance at a one week training program conducted just before the start of the fall semester.
