Business Manager -- Department of Industrial and Information Engineering

The Department of Industrial and Information Engineering invites applications for a full-time Business Manager. Reporting to the department head, the business manager is responsible for managing all fiscal and human resources operations of the department.
Primary duties and responsibilities include coordinating the departmental budget as well as research and non-research expenditures and income accounts, general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, procurement, facility space inventory, payroll and supervision of designated department support staff. The business manager will also be involved in gathering data and preparing reports for the purposes of strategic planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with accounting/finance major OR a work history that includes 4-6 years of hands-on accounting/financial management
- Demonstrated leadership, administrative, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases and Microsoft Office software
- 2 years experience with a large accounting software package
- 3 years work experience related to fiscal post-award management of federal, state, and private grants and contracts
- Experience in a supervisory role Preferred Qualifications
- Prior accounting experience at a comprehensive research university
- Experience with SAP software
