A Message from the Dean

The support of dedicated alumni, corporations and friends of the college is vital toward achieving our goal of becoming one of the top engineering colleges in the United States.

As a state-assisted institution, the University of Tennessee receives only 35 percent of its budget from state appropriations. In light of relatively flat funding from state sources, private support plays a critically important role in maintaining and enhancing the strength of the university and the College of Engineering.

Donors who support programs of personal interest earmark approximately 90 percent of the gifts received each year.

The University of Tennessee offers donors the chance to make gifts through the UT Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization, or through the university itself. Both benefit the faculty, student and programs directly, and both institutions are tax exempt.

If you are interested in learning more about how you can support the college and invest in its exciting and successful future, please contact the Office of Engineering Development.

Sincerely,

Wayne Davis
Dean, College of Engineering
