The mission of the Office of Engineering Development is to initiate, coordinate and implement fund-raising to support and enhance the initiatives of the College of Engineering, including recruiting and retaining students, sustaining outstanding research and continuing to improve the college's technology and infrastructure.
Development and Fund-Raising
The OED works with alumni, corporations, foundations and friends of the COE to secure external resources that benefit the college.
External resources include gifts of cash, securities and other appreciated assets designated by donors for specific areas of support within the college. Many benefactors choose to support the college through estate gifts, such as bequests in wills or trust agreements, coordinated with university representatives.
Alumni Relations
The OED serves as the contact point for College of Engineering alumni, providing information and support in addition to planning and implementing special events.
The principal COE annual alumni event is the College of Engineering Alumni Homecoming Picnic, held on the engineering campus before the Homecoming football game.
