The Department of Industrial and Information Engineering at The University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Outstanding candidates with research interests in emerging and interdisciplinary areas, e.g. (but not limited to) Systems Engineering, Energy/Sustainability, Healthcare, Engineering/Service Systems and Design, are encouraged to apply. Duties and Expectations: The successful candidate is expected to excel in teaching undergraduate, graduate, and distance learning courses and develop and sustain a quality research program funded through external grants. The research is expected to be innovative and published in prestigious referred journals. Undergraduate student advising and graduate student mentoring are also required.
Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree is required, with at least one degree in Industrial Engineering or related area. Qualified candidates are expected to have expertise that will enable them to teach a variety of undergraduate IE courses. Demonstrated strengths in IE-related areas, such as systems engineering, operations research, statistics, production systems, ergonomics, or information/computer science, are desirable. Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
