The Department is committed to provide sound modern industrial engineering education, to engage in creative research, and to deliver outreach activities through its undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department will continuously enhance its performance in the creation, integration, and dissemination of knowledge as it relates to the design, implementation, operation, analysis, and improvement of industrial processes and in. service to the profession of industrial engineering.

Objectives

The goals of the Department are intended to be achieved through the accomplishment of the following objectives. The objectives present detailed exposition of the contents of the goals.

  1. Enhance the quality of all undergraduate engineering programs, incorporating distinctive undergraduate experiences, including undergraduate research and public service opportunities, and ensure that all undergraduates gain the knowledge, perspectives, and skills necessary to succeed in today's complex and interdisciplinary world.
  2. Offer graduate programs that compete nationally and internationally for the most highly qualified students.
  3. Enhance support for areas of industrial engineering research and scholarship, including multi-disciplinary research, that demonstrate excellence and significant potential for addressing vital state, national, and international needs.
  4. Expand professional service involvement to enhance the quality, effectiveness, and outreach of the department.
  5. Secure new and improved facilities and resources, and promote effective utilization of available ones for the purpose of enhancing the department's educational, research and service missions.
