JACK WASSERMAN, Ph.D.,
Institute Director
Dr. Jack Wasserman has worked on vibration
problems for more than 40 years. He received his Ph.D. in
mechanical engineering with a biomedical option in 1975 with
the application of vibration and acoustics to medical diagnosis.
After eight years of association with the Department of Neurology
in the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati,
he became a biomedical faculty member in the College of Engineering
at the University of Tennessee. He has taught vibrations and
biomechanics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
He began working with vibration effects on the human body
12 years ago and has been involved in numerous projects, graduate
student research and course work. He has received numerous
university awards for both his teaching and research activities,
and he has received four patents which have resulted in new
industrial products.

DONALD E. WASSERMAN, M.S.E.E.,
M.B.A.
Donald Wasserman was the Chief of the Occupational
Vibration section of the National Institute for Occupational
Safety & Health for many years and was responsible for a number
of studies during that time. He is considered a world expert
in the field, having published more than 100 papers, book
chapters and books (Human Aspects of Occupational Vibration,
Hand-Arm Vibration: A Comprehensive Guide for Occupational
Health Professionals) on the subject. He is currently a private
human vibration and biomedical engineering consultant, lecturer
and consulting scientist. He is an adjunct professor of industrial
engineering at the University of Tennessee. During the past
28 years, he has been actively involved in human vibration
health and standards safety committees. He is a scientific
reviewer for numerous occupational medicine, industrial hygiene
and engineering journals.

PETER PELMEAR, M.D.
Dr. Pelmear is an internationally known
medical expert in the area of hand-arm vibration syndrome.
He and his late colleague, Dr. William Taylor, developed the
first medical classification scale for persons afflicted with
HAVS, known as the Taylor-Pelmear Scale; this scale is utilized
world-wide. Dr. Pelmear is the author of two HAVS books as
well as numerous publications and book chapters on HAVS. Dr.
Pelmear serves as medical consultant for ISHV.

LOGAN MULINIX, M.S.E.S.
Logan Mulinix is completing his Ph.D. at
the University of Tennessee, and is specializing in human
body vibrations. He is currently a senior engineer in private
industry. Mr. Mulinix has extensive experience in the measurement
and analysis of whole body and hand-arm vibration. He has
worked on the design and evaluation of air-ride truck seats
and has also worked in the areas of controls using experts
systems, fuzzy logic and neural networks. He has worked with
Dr. Wasserman for the last 10 years making measurements on
numerous vehicles and tools.
