Presidential Management Fellows Program – MS/PhD ONLY

Applications and nominations are now being accepted for the 2010 Presidential Management Fellows Program. This is a prestigious, "fast-track" Federal Government Fellowship open to all academic disciplines at the Graduate/Professional Level. In the past several years, The University of Tennessee has been very competitive in sending successful candidates through this program. The window to apply is very small, so please contact us immediately for application information.

Established in 1977, The PMF Program is designed to attract to the Federal service outstanding men and women from a variety of academic disciplines and career paths who have a clear interest in, and commitment to, excellence in the leadership and management of public policies and programs. Currently, there is unprecedented need for those in the following disciplines:

This rigorous two-year paid program includes formal classroom training each year, challenging assignments, accelerated promotions, developmental learning and networking opportunities. Fellows are hired by Federal Agencies and given exposure to domestic and international issues in such areas as public administration, technology, science, criminal justice, health and financial management, to name a few.

The PMF Program seeks the best and the brightest who want to make a difference through public service. Students who complete a graduate degree (master’s, law/other professional, or doctoral-level degree) during the 2009-2010 academic year (September 1, 2009 - August 31, 2010) from a qualifying college or university are eligible to be nominated by their schools. Selection begins with the nomination of the student by the school followed by a rigorous assessment process. Application, nomination, and selection information is available online at http://www.pmf.opm.gov. Applicants must consult with their school's Nomination Official—Shawna Hembree, Career Services, sbhembree@utk.edu, 974-5435—to compete for the school's nomination into the Program.
