Keynote Speaker -  Col. Henry ÒHankÓ Hartsfield Jr., UT Alumni in Engineering Science, US Air Force Test pilot and NASA astronaut on Apollo 16, Skylabs 2,3 and 4 and Space Shuttles Columbia, Discovery and Challenger.  Hear about the amazing career journey of Col. Hartsfield from his beginnings at UT through his NASA experience and his transition to the corporate world at Raytheon and what he has learned on his career adventures about success and believing in dreams.

10 am – 3 pm Appointments  required through HIRE-A-VOL or at Registration Tables on Sept. 15th (depending on availability)

Resume Critiques and Practice Interviews with Engineering Company Representatives – Engineering students can sign-up through the Hire-A-VOL system and schedule a 30 minute resume critique and/or a 30-minute practice interview with recruiters from area engineering companies.  Students must sign-up for an appointment and should bring a copy of their resume to the appointments.  The representatives will discuss how to improve resume and interview skills and offer individual advice.  The appointments will not be for actual job opportunities, but will be general advice sessions to assist students with skills.  Open to engineering students looking for internships, co-ops and full-time positions.  Students may choose appointment time, but will be assigned randomly to an employer representative.

 

Participating companies are:  Eastman Chemical, ALCOA, Eaton Electrical, TVA, Shaw Industries, Analysis & Measurement Services (AMS), DENSO, Alstom Power, FBI, B & W Y-12
