KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- -- The University of Tennessee’s Maintenance and Reliability Center (MRC) has been renamed as the Reliability and Maintainability Center (RMC) in order to better emphasize reliability as the primary attribute the center's member companies are trying to achieve. Although the center has changed its designation, it is not changing its programs or approaches with the exception of optimizing them to meet the needs of members and students.
RMC will also continue to emphasize maintenance as well as reliability in education and information sharing activities. The center will offer research in the area of maintenance as well as reliability and it will continue to recruit and welcome those involved with both maintenance and reliability activities.
RMC's new website is www.rmc.utk.edu and the new e-mail address is rmc@utk.edu.The RMC office phone is (865) 974-4749 and the office FAX is (865) 974-4995.
The RMC, formerly the MRC, was established in the College of Engineering at The University of Tennessee in 1996 with 12 original company members. It has now grown to over 30 member companies and organizations.
The RMC exists to advance reliability and maintenance education and practices within the academic and industrial communities, creating opportunities for member companies and organizations, students, faculty and industry to achieve exceptional value through a comprehensive program of education, research, and information sharing.
