New Appointee for Office of Professional Practice Announced

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The UT College of Engineering's (COE) Office of Professional Practice is pleased to announce that Suzanne Sawicki has been hired to fill the new position of Coordinator II.

Sawicki has over 10 years experience in human resources and recruiting, specializing in areas of manufacturing and technology. Sawicki was previously a Human Resource Generalist/Site Manager for Remotec in Clinton, Tenn., where she was responsible for all phases of human resources management for a facility that employed over 150 employees.

Sawicki was also a Technical Recruiting Manager with Protemp Staffing Services in Knoxville, where she developed a permanent placement division that specialized in highly technical assignments for degreed employees in engineering, program management and materials. She has a B.S. degree from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and is a member of the American Society for Quality Control, the Society for Human Resources Management and Diversity, Inc.

The OPP provides income-generating opportunities for COE students to experience real-world engineering challenges through cooperative education and internships.

"Suzanne will bring a new perspective to the Office of Professional Practice," said Walter Odom, Director of the OPP. "As we expand our program and the boundaries of our geographic employer area, her expertise in human resources and technology will be very valuable."
