The meeting was called to order, Larry Townsend presiding. A quorum of the executive committee was not present, so no official business was conducted.
Treasurer's Report:
The proposed budget for the new fiscal year was presented for Board approval. All of the committee chairs and officers have been contacted about their specific budgets. Due to the low attendance at the meeting, the proposed budget has been sent out via e-mail to all voting members for approval.
Education
The very successful teacher's workshop that was co-sponsored with UT in July will most likely become an annual event. Another workshop is scheduled for late October in Nashville.
Newsletter
Bill Hill needs help this month writing articles for the newsletter. Please send him articles or contact him if you can help.
Program/Arrangements
Bernadette Kirk has accepted the position of program chair for this year. Please contact her at blk@ornl.gov or 574-6176 if you have suggestions for dinner meeting speakers.

About 40 new national ANS members have been identified in the area and were sent special letters inviting them to join the local section.
WATTec
The section needs a chair for this committee to represent ANS at the monthly WATTec sponsors meetings.
