ANS Executive Committee Meeting

The meeting was called to order. A quorum of voting members was present. The following individuals attended:

The meeting was called to order, Larry Townsend presiding. A quorum of the executive committee was not present, so no official business was transacted.

Secretary's Report

The meeting minutes from November were discussed, with a minor suggested revision about the changed program plans.

Treasurer's Report

No report this month.

Program/Arrangements

The speaker for the January dinner meeting will be Lee Reidinger, Head of UT Physics Department and soon to be Deputy Director for Science and Technology at ORNL. The planned topic for the February 22 dinner meeting is the recent criticality accident in Japan with speaker Richard Taylor. On March 28, we plan to have Don Spellman talk about ANS standards. We also plan to have dinner meetings on April 25 and May 23.

Honors and Awards

Call for applications will be posted next week for the annual ANS scholarship to a UT Nuclear Engineering student.

Topical Meetings

A decision has been made to go forward with plans to host the DD&R 2001 topical meeting.

Dan Ingersoll has graciously volunteered to take over publication of the newsletter. He plans to produce one in March, so please send any input to him by February 18.
