Program Title: "The U.S. Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board: An Overview "

Defense Nuclear Safety Board
Program Description: Mr. Gubanc is currently the Oak Ridge Site Representative for the U.S. Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (Board). He established the Board's Oak Ridge office in June 1998 and its Hanford Site Representative office in 1994. Mr. Gubanc joined the Board staff in 1991 and before his field assignments worked primarily on matters involving the Hanford and Savannah River sites and the establishment of the Department of Energy's Facility Representative program. Prior to joining the Board, Mr. Gubanc worked at Naval Reactors headquarters from 1982-1990, and for H&R Technical Associates (Germantown, Maryland office) from 1990-1991. Mr. Gubanc holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and conducted portions of his graduate work at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Virginia.
