Opportunities for UT students
Study Abroad
Take your opportunity to earn credits and experience new challenges in a special environment! Engineering study abroad programs allow you to stay one semester or shorter in an English speaking or foreign language based schools throughout the world. You can choose between individual trips through GE3 (Global Engineering Education Exchange) or pre-arranged trips, where you would live and travel with a small group of UT students.
Internships and undergraduate research
Undergraduate research opportunities are available in every department of the College of Engineering. Students often present their results of collaborations with engineering professors at the Exhibition of Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement (EUReCA), a poster competition held every spring on campus. Cash prizes are furnished by the College and the Office of Research.

Internships and undergraduate research opportunities are available for our students through Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Every January, the College co-sponsors at UT Day at the Lab for undergraduates, with ORNL tours and information on how to make the national laboratory part of you undergraduate experience.
Service learning opportunities for engineering students are being developed in coordination with the Howard Baker Center and the Chancellor's Honors Program. Contact Dr. Roger Parsons for more information.
The College of Engineering represents the university in the Tennessee Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (TLSAMP). The National Science Foundation funds TLSAMP, a state-wide organization, in an effort to help participating colleges and universities increase enrollment and graduation rates of underrepresented ethnic minorities in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
