A Message from the Director
We appreciate your interest in the Reliability and Maintainability Engineering (RME) Program. This newly approved program was initiated through a close association with our Maintenance and Reliability Center, which was established in 1996. The center is a unique partnership between academia and industry dedicated to improving productivity, efficiency and safety through the development and application of maintenance and reliability technologies and management principles.
The RME academic program was developed to meet the needs of industry and government by providing formal undergraduate and graduate education in the RME area. Undergraduate students can receive a minor in MRE, while graduate students can receive either a Graduate Certificate or an M.S. degree. The M.S. program is the first interdisciplinary program in the College of Engineering, and students admitted to one of several departments, including chemical engineering, electrical and computer engineering, industrial and information engineering, mechanical, aerospace and biomedical engineering and nuclear engineering, can earn the degree.
