Kimberly-Clark and BWXT Y-12 provided free lunches for the COE students, faculty and staff this fall. Both events were well-attended.

Mary Jo Fairbanks, assistant director of Co-op, has developed a new OCEPP newsletter, "The Working Class." Three issues will be printed per year with articles featuring COE students, faculty and employers.

The annual Engineering Fair brought 40 companies to campus to recruit students in all disciplines of engineering for Co-op positions.

Engage faculty and students won the "best presentation" award for the National Science Foundation Showcase at the ASEE annual meeting this summer. The presentation featured the Engage CD-Rom, a new recruiting tool developed with extensive student input.

The Congressional Black Caucus will honor the Oak Ridge High SchoolÕs Science, Engineering, Communications, Mathematics and Enrichment (SECME) program director, along with team members and its superintendent, during the fall semester for their exceptional SECME performance. The program is designed to increase the number of minority students who are qualified for entering and completing studies in engineering, math and science.
