COE celebrates achievement at "2001: An Engineering Odyssey"
|
The College of Engineering held its annual Honors Banquet on Monday,
April 9, 2001, at the Foundry banquet hall in Knoxville.
Engineering faculty, staff, students and guests gathered to bestow
recognition on outstanding academic and professional achievements.
Dr. Jerry Stoneking, Dean of the College of Engineering, opened
the evening with a welcome address outlining the theme of the evening,
"2001: An Engineering Odyssey."
Earnest W. Deavenport Jr., CEO, Eastman Chemical Company, was the
keynote speaker.
The evening's most prestigious award, the Nathan W. Dougherty Award,
was presented to former University of Tennessee Chancellor and COE
dean Dr. William T. Snyder (BS/ME '53) (for more information,
please see the "Kudos" section).
The event was sponsored by Eastman Chemical Company. Awards included
