Landon N. Kenny (BS/ChE '64, MS/ChE '66) has been named superintendent, Materials and Services Division for Eastman Chemical Company. Kenny is a 34-year employee of the company, and most recently served as superintendent, Centralized Maintenance and Services Division.

Dr. Jon T. Moore (MS/EE '66) has been named a technology fellow by Eastman Chemical Company. Moore is a 28-year employee with Eastman and formerly held the position of senior research associate.

Curtis A. Siller, Jr. (BS/EE '66, MS/EE '67, Ph.D/EE '69) received a Bell Laboratories Advanced Technology Excellence Award for contributions to packet voice networks and the IEEE Communications Society.

David L. Baker (BS/ChE '67) has been named manager, special projects, Eastman Chemical Hong Kong Ltd. A 31-year employee with Eastman, Baker currently serves as superintendent, HSE and Facilities Support Department, Acid Division, Tennessee Eastman Division. He is a registered professional engineer in Tennessee and is past president of the East Tennessee Section of the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers.

Robert G. Campbell, P.E. (MS/CE '67) Principal of Robert G. Campbell & Associates in Knoxville, was recently installed as president of the Consulting Engineers of Tennessee (CET) for 1999--2000. He is the only Knoxvillian currently serving as an officer of the statewide organization, which represents 132 member firms employing approximately 4,000 people. Campbell has 19 years of experience in the field of consulting engineering. He founded his own consulting engineering firm, Robert G. Campbell & Associates, in 1980.

Craig A. Brandon (Ph.D./ES '68) was named as a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers International, a distinction conferred upon a member with at least 10 years active engineering practice who has made significant contributions to the field. Brandon is retired.

Ronald L. Turner (BS/IE '68) has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of Ceridian Corporation, a leading information services company. Turner is only the fourth CEO in Ceridian's 42-year history. His career includes more than 25 years in the defense industry, during which he helped build, among other things, guidance systems for the space shuttle and the forerunner of today's global position system. Turner joined Ceridian in 1993, first leading the company's defense electronics business, Computing Devices International, and then heading operations for the entire corporation in 1997. Ceridian is based in Minneapolis, Minn.

W.R. Buchanan (BS/ChE '69) was named manager of international procurement at Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, Tenn. A 29-year employee with Eastman, he most recently served as manager of chemical procurement for Europe; the Middle East; Africa; and Rotterdam and the Netherlands.

H. Don Mauldin, PE (BS/CE '69, MS/CE '75) a vice-president at Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon (BWSC) was recently elected to the engineering and planning firm's board of directors. Prior to his association with BWSC in 1977, Mauldin was Assistant Director of Planning and Design of Traffic Engineering for the City of Knoxville. He was president of Mauldin Parnell, Inc., an engineering and planning consulting firm in Knoxville from 1988 to 1997, and rejoined BWSC in 1997 as Director of Civil and Environmental Engineering. BWSC is headquartered in Nashville, Tenn.

Gary W. Sproles (BS/CEE '69, MS '77 EngAdm) has been named manager, Program Management, Business Process Improvement. Sproles has been employed by Eastman for 29 years. In his most recent position, he was manager, Advantaged Cost 2000 Project, General Management & Staff. He is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Tennessee and a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers.
