Dr. Subrata Roy (MS/ES '90/Ph.D. ES '94) is with Kettering University and has been named an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). Nominees must be AIAA senior members and have at least 12 years of professional experience. Mark Townes (BS/ES '90) is District Sales Manager in Ohio and Indiana for Computational Systems, Inc (CSI), headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn. Clint Bidlack, (MS/EE '91) co-founder and vice-president of product strategy has been selected as a member of the executive management team at Viveca, Inc., a managed service provider of eCatalog Network Services for BWB e-commerce companies, in Boston, Mass. His research area is in rapid development and deployment of large integrated systems and positioning of advanced software systems for business use. Jocelyn Kelly Bayliss (BS/ChE '91) is an engineer at Corning Incorporated in Hickory, N.C. She is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers. Rhonda Collier (BS/IE '91), a graduate student at Vanderbilt University, received the Fulbright Fellowship. She will be based at the Universidade de Sao Paulo conducting a comparative analysis of Afro-Brazilian women's poetry. Before pursuing her doctorate in comparative literature at Vanderbilt, Collier worked six years as a health systems specialist for General Electric. Tobias Kaplan (BS/ME '91) is employed by British Aerospace Engineering (BAE), contractors for the U.S. Department of the Navy in Bayview, Idaho. He is involved with the development of the new Virginia class submarine, a less expensive, faster and smaller boat than its predecessor, the Sea Wolf submarine. Michael David Rowen (BS/ME '91) is manager of industrial services for Gresham Smith & Partners in Nashville, Tenn. He manages a group of 15 engineers and architects which provide engineering/architectural services to automotive, tire, chemical and other large manufacturing facilities as well as the general public. Curtis S. Jones (MS/EE '92) principal/chief technical officer of NetLearning, Inc., recently attended the Leadership Knoxville 2001 activities in Knoxville, Tenn. Lt. David McAlister (BS/CE '93, MS/CE '94) has been transferred from Construction Battalion Unit 402 to the Public Works Center in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Ramon E. Gonzalez (BS/ME '95) is a senior project engineer for the Copeland Corporation's Northern Ireland plant that makes air conditioning and refrigeration compressors. He is in charge of all product design. Justin Drafts (BS/AE '96) is a structural engineer with the freight airline Airborne Express. Richard Kimbrough Holman (BS/MSE '96) is a Ph.D. candidate in the materials science department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Holman works in the Ceramics Processing Research Lab on three-dimensional printing. He is interested in improving component resolution and surface finish through chemistry and binder printing conditions. Bill Ahls (BS/IE '97) is a product engineer with Solectron Corporation in Charlotte, N.C. Lewis Guthrie Chilton (BS/IE '97) is now enrolled in the MBA program at Columbia University, New York. Kevin Harroll Parish (BS/EE '98) is an electrical engineer at Carolina Power & Light Company in Raleigh, N.C. Katrice Malcom Branner (BS/ChE '98) is a production engineer for Dow Chemical. |
